FRIDAY JULY 29 Stand-Up Paddleboarding in Coronado and Engaging Shaw at the Old Globe

Try a new sport today and experience the traditional Hawaiian stand-up paddleboarding lessons offered through Gnarly Neal’s of the Executive Surf Club. Paddle around Glorietta Bay or try paddleboarding by the beach near Hotel del Coronado. For specifics about lessons, pricing, and other ocean activities, go to the S.U.P. section of the Executive Surf Club website.

And for a limited time only, Engaging Shaw will be featured at the Old Globe in Balboa Park. This romantic new comedy has fantastic reviews and would be a lovely treat for a Friday night. The 8 p.m. show will be featured on the Sheryl & Harvey White Theatre stage. Tickets can be ordered online at the Old Globe.

SATURDAY JULY 30 Stagecoach Days in Old Town and the Doors “Wild Child” Tribute Band

The celebration of the West has finally rolled back into San Diego. Stagecoach Days at the Old Town San Diego State Historic Park will be going on from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. with free admission! The July 30th topic is trade that shaped Westward expansion so wagon rides, display wagons, and a Wild West party will all be present. Celebrate the beginning of transportation and the real horsepower of the old days.

Get ready to hear the greatest recreation of The Doors that you have ever heard! The Doors tribute band called Wild Child will have you believing that Jim Morrison is there right before your very eyes. Don’t miss such an amazing rendition of America’s greatest rock band at 9 p.m. at the Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach.

SUNDAY JULY 31 Exquisite Portrait Artist and Park Concert Series in Coronado

This Sunday, and for this Sunday only, the talented portrait artist Nancy Seamons-Crookston will have her only sitting session this summer for portrait paintings. Get a special and unique painting of you and your loved one that you can cherish forever. The sitting session will include a photo shoot at the beach of which Nancy will be able to paint and develop your rare masterpiece. Stop in at the Art & Frames by Wood Gallery during operating hours for your sitting session.

And if you still want to spend some time in Coronado, why not enjoy the free admission Coronado Concert Series at Spreckels Park?? The classic Rockola band, whom is notorious for their San Diego summer concert series, will be starting at 6 p.m. playing all your favorite rock tunes. Come prepared with a picnic and enjoy the gazebo-style concerts in Spreckels Park.

The week has finally come to an end and now it’s time to relax and have some fun! Check out these interesting events happening right here in San Diego:

Friday, February 25th : YouthJamz Benefit Concert

The Storefront Shelter of San Diego does a fantastic job of keeping homeless teens off the streets. Hosted by Storefront, the YouthJamz concert will start at 6pm at La Costa Canyon High School located in Carlsbad. The list of performers includes American Idol star Tim Urban, Thomas Fiss, and Avenue 52 to name a few. There will also be a raffle to win U2 concert tickets!! Saturday, February 26th : Silent Film Night

The Copley Symphony Hall’s Silent Film Night will be featuring the 1923 classic Safety Last! starring Harold Lloyd. Sunday, February 27th : Art Mart

Get inspired this Sunday at Balboa Park’s Art Mart from 10am to 4pm. Local vendors will be selling their artwork, jewelry, and other artistic creations. Take a walk around Balboa Park and enjoy the sunshine as a relaxing end to the weekend.
