Whether you’re celebrating summer days or Mother’s Day, San Diego is full of fun festivals like channel 933’s Summer Kickoff and Gator by the Bay as well as cool Mother’s Day events like a Mother Daughter Tea, Mother’s Day concert, and an art and garden tour. Find something interesting to do this weekend no matter who you’re hanging out with.

Friday, May 11th Gator by the Bay and Channel 933’s Summer Kick-Off

Is it Mardi Gras again? Well, not quite! The annual zydeco and Cajun festival is taking place in the Spanish Landing Park on Harbor Drive. You’ll get a real treat at this special Gator by the Bay with authentic Creole cuisine, dance lessons, New Orleans parades and lots of great musical performances. Gator by the Bay will be serving 8,000 pounds of crawfish right from Louisiana. Expect good old Cajun fun at Gator by the Bay from 3:30 to 10:30 p.m.

San Diego’s local radio station, Channel 933, is hosting its own summer kick off on Friday night. Starting at 6 p.m., you can see your favorite music artists perform live at the Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre in Chula Vista. Maroon 5, Flo Rida, Gym Class Heroes, Wiz Khalifa, and many more will rock 933’s Summer Kick Off so get your tickets today!

Saturday, May 12th Mother’s Day Concert and Westgate Hotel’s Mother Daughter Tea Time

In a traditional San Diego Mother’s Day event, Balboa Park’s Spreckels Organ Pavilion will host a fantastic Mother’s Day concert. Carol Williams, a civic organist, will provide entertainment at the concert. The concert is free to attend, however, there is a great Mother’s Day brunch before the concert beginning at 10 a.m. at the Prado Restaurant “Casa del Rey Moro” Garden. Tickets for brunch are $45. Treat mom to a brunch and concert special this Saturday at Spreckels Organ Pavilion!

Reserve some quality Mother-Daughter time this weekend at Westgate Hotel’s Mother Daughter Teas in the Grand Lobby of the hotel. Show your mother some appreciation with this traditional afternoon tea time from 2:30 to 5 p.m. You’ll also love the soft melodies of a professional harpist! To reserve teatime for you and your mother, visit Westgate Hotel and get your tickets online today.

Sunday, May 13th Live Jazz at Croce’s Restaurant and Mother’s Day Weekend Art and Garden Tour

Treat your mother to an extraordinarily posh celebration on her special day! At Croce’s Restaurant & Jazz Bar in Downtown San Diego, take your mom out to a special meal and she’ll receive a free glass of champagne or dessert. The Jazz Bar will also be featuring smooth jazz music by Irving Flores at 2:30 p.m. and The Archtones at 7:30 p.m. Reserve your special Mother’s Day meal at Croce’s today before it’s too late!

Take your mom up the coast to Encinitas for a picturesque view of San Diego County’s coastal scenery and Encinita’s Mother’s Day Weekend Art and Garden Tour. The 18th annual self-guided tour is put on by the San Dieguito Art Guild and showcases 9 different gardens and many displays of original artwork by local artists. The tour is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., beginning at Off Track Gallery in Encinitas. For tickets to this fun Mother’s Day tour, go to Off Track Gallery online.
